NORTHFIELD, Minn. (
www.blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire Women's Cross Country was on the road for the first time this seaon at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday. With a total team score of 123 points, the Blugolds made the podium with an impressive 3rd place finish as a team, and placed 7 individuals in the top 40.
Keeley Behr (jr.) came in first for the team with a time of 23:03, placing 7th place overall. The next top Blugolds were
Molly Heidorn (So. - Colfax, Wis.) with a time of 24:12,
Ryann Wagner (Jr. - Lena, Wis.) with a time of 24:18,
Allison Weissinger (Sr. - River Falls, Wis.) with a time of 24:21,
Libby Beirne (So. - Oregon, Wis.),
Kassie Bargender (Sr. - Wausau, Wis.) with a time of 24:32, and
Bella Hooker (Fr. - Kewaskum, Wis.), with a time of 24:35. After the race, head coach
Dan Schwamberger was impressed with the teams ability to stick to the gameplan saying, "The plan for this race was to pace the first 3200 and focus on working with workout groups. They executed perfectly and really worked together well."
The Blugolds will be back in action at the Blugold Invite at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis. on Friday, October 4th with the men's 8k starting at 5=4:15 pm.
