HASTINGS, Minn. (
www.blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team was back on the course for the first time since October as they began the first round of the Gustie Spring Invite, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. After 18 holes of golf, the Blugolds sit in 11
th place with a team total of 375 strokes.
Bri Novak (So. – Red Wing, Minn.) led Eau Claire on the day with a round of 90 and currently sits in 35
th place individually. Elizabeth Herman (Fr. – Macomb Township, Mich./Dakota) was close behind Novak with a round of 93 strokes. Herman and Novak combined for eight pars as Herman sits tied for 42
nd overall.
Lily Kaminski (Fr. – Green Bay, Wis./Denmark) and
Lydia Jensen (Fr. – Altoona, Wis.) are tied for 47
th overall with a pair of 96's.
Olivia McSorley (Jr. – Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East) rounded out the Blugolds' top-5 with a round of 97 and sits tied for 49
th overall.
The Blugolds will begin round two of the Gustie Spring Invite on Sunday, April 14
th at the Emerald Greens Golf Course. The final day of play is scheduled for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
