EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey player
Sophie Rausch (Sr. – Fergus Falls, Minn.) was named to the 2023-24 CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association Women's Division III All-America team on Thursday. Rausch was named to the West First Team for the second time in her UW-Eau Claire career and a third time overall.
Rausch is the only member of this year's All-America teams to have earned first team honors three times. She helped lead the Blugolds to a 21-7 season and a second-place finish in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament. Rausch led UW-Eau Claire in points (50), goals (29) and assists (21), and ranked second in the WIAC in goals, points, shots, and power play goals.
Rausch was also this year's WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete and was named a finalist for the AHCA's Laura Hurd Award, given to the top Division III women's ice hockey player.
Rausch's selection as an All-American this season is the Blugolds' seventh All-America honor in program history. Six of those have been first team selections.
