ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team placed ninth out of 35 teams at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday. In a field that featured five nationally ranked teams, the Blugolds earned a top 10 finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugolds finished with 293 team points. Second-ranked Colorado College won the meet with 56 points.
- Keeley Behr (Jr. – Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) crossed the finish line first for UW-Eau Claire, placing 20th with a time of 21:56.1. It was a season-best for the junior.
- Ryann Wagner (Jr. – Lena, Wis./Gillett) finished second for the Blugolds. Wagner placed 60th overall in 22:43.1. Reagan Zimmerman (So. – Sun Prairie, Wis.) was next in, taking 67th overall in 22:47.9. Both Wagner and Zimmerman's times were their best of the season.
- Molly Heidorn (So. – Colfax, Wis.) finished 71st overall with a time of 22:51.5, a new season low. Libby Beirne (So. – Oregon, Wis.) rounded out UW-Eau Claire's scoring with a run of 22:58.0, good for 83rd place overall.
UP NEXT
The Blugolds will be back in action on Saturday, November 2, at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships. UW-Eau Claire took second place at last year's WIAC meet and produced the individual champion.
