COLFAX, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team competed at the Blugold Invitational on Friday, September 29th. On their home course at Whitetail Golf Course, the Blugolds took third out of 25 teams in the varsity race, scoring 106 points. In the open race, the Blugolds took second out of 18 teams, scoring 61 points.
In the varsity race,
Ava Matejcek (So. – Mankato, Minn./Mankato East) was first in for the Blugolds placing ninth overall in a time of 22:40.5. Following behind Matejcek was
Morgan Dahl (Sr. – Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) placing 18th overall in a time of 23:05.7. Rounding out the Blugold top five in the varsity race was
Kirsten Ranke (Sr. - Waterford, Wis.) running a time of 23:23.9,
Christi Forman (Sr. – Waterloo, Wis.) with a time of 23:24.8, and
Keeley Behr (So. – Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) with a time of 23:28.9.
In the open race,
Kassie Bargender (Jr. – Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) was first in for the Blugolds placing sixth overall and running a time of 24:35.2.
Marika Kisgen (Jr. – Des Moines, Iowa/Ankeny) was next in for the Blugolds placing 11
th overall in a time of 25:02.3.
The Blugold women will take the next week to recover and continue training before gearing up to race at the Augustana Interregional Invite October 14
th.
