ALTOONA, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team successfully defended home turf on Monday by winning the Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational at Eau Claire Golf & Country Club. The Blugolds' top squad rose one spot up the leaderboard to win the tournament by 14 strokes.

UW-Eau Claire's A squad finished with a two-day score of 591, good for 23 over par. The Blugolds' B squad placed third out of 18 teams at 604, 36 over par.

Carson Brock (Sr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) was the top Blugold finisher with a 146, which earned him a tie for third place. He finished 4 over par for the tournament. Ben Pausha (So. - Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) and Nick Amtmann (Jr. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) both finished in the top 10 as well. They were both part of a tie for seventh at 148. Pausha climbed eight spots up the leaderboard with a strong second round. He shot a 73 on Monday. Amtmann rose two spots up the board with a 75.

Fred Moede (Jr. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) and Ryan Jamieson (Fr. - St. Paul, Minn./White Bear Lake) both tied for 11th with matching 150s. Moede soared 11 spots up the leaderboard from his Sunday position.

Owen Covey (Jr. - New Richmond, Wis.) and Alec Sosnowski (So. - Verona, Wis./Middleton) finished tied for 18th after both posted strong second rounds. Covey jumped up 22 spots with a 73, and finished with a two-day total of 153. Sosnowski climbed nine spots with a 75 and also finsihed at 153.

Nick Mueller (Fr. - Baldwin, Wis./St. Croix Central) and Lucas Ladd (Fr. - Mequon, Wis./Homestead) finished back-to-back in the standings at 25th and 26th, respectively. Mueller carded a two-day 154 and Ladd was one shot back at 155.

Spencer Lynch (Fr. - Neenah, Wis./St. Mary Catholic) tied for 33rd at 157 and Corey Boerner (Sr. - Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy) was right behind in a tie for 37th at 158. Griffin Oberneder (So. - Beloit, Wis./Memorial) tied for 47th at 161 and Braeden Resnick (So. - Rice Lake, Wis.) tied for 57th at 163. Both climbed several spots on the leaderboard from their first-round positions.

UW-Eau Claire will return to action from Sept. 23-25 at the Twin Cities Classic hosted at several sites in Minnesota. The tournament is hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.

Carson Brock (Sr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) is the clubhouse leader following the first round of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team's Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational. Brock sits in first place entering the final round of the tournament on Monday.

The Blugolds have two squads competing and they sit second and third in the team standings. One squad shot a 298 and the other carded a 303.

Brock shot a tournament-best 68 and is 3 under par. He has a one-stroke lead over the rest of the field at Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.

Lucas Ladd (Fr. - Mequon, Wis./Homestead) and Nick Amtmann (Jr. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) are both in the top 10. Ladd is tied for sixth after shooting a 72, good for 1 over par. Amtmann is tied for ninth at 73.

Spencer Lynch (Fr. - Neenah, Wis./St. Mary Catholic), Ben Pausha (So. - Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) and Ryan Jamieson (Fr. - St. Paul, Minn./White Bear Lake) are all in a tie for 15th. They shot matching 75s and sit 4 over par.

Fred Moede (Jr. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) is tied for 22nd with a 77. Alec Sosnowski (So. - Verona, Wis./Middleton) isn't far behind, sitting in a tie for 27th with a 78.

Corey Boerner (Sr. - Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy) and Owen Covey (Jr. - New Richmond, Wis.) are both in a tie for 40th after carding 80s. Griffin Oberneder (So. - Beloit, Wis./Memorial) is tied for 53rd at 81.

Nick Mueller (Fr. - Baldwin, Wis./St. Croix Central) is tied for 58th with an 82, and Braeden Resnick (So. - Rice Lake, Wis.) is tied for 67th with an 83.

The tournament wraps up with the second round on Monday.
