REEDSBURG, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team sits in seventh place after the first round of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship at Reedsburg Country Club. The Blugolds shot a collective 356 in Friday's opening round.
UW-Eau Claire is 68 over par entering the second round.
Bri Novak (So. - Red Wing, Minn.) was the Blugolds' top performer on Friday, carding an 86. She is in a tie for 23rd heading into Saturday.
Cadie Ash (Sr. - Waupaca, Wis.) is close behind with an 88, good for a tie for 27th.
Keely Morehouse (So. - Superior, Wis.) is tied for 36th after recording an 89 on Friday.
Olivia McSorley (Jr. - Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East) is tied for 36th at 90.
Gillian Johnson (So. - Hayward, Wis.) carded a 91 to get into a tie for 42nd.
Elizabeth Hermann (Fr. - Macomb Township, Mich./Dakota) is tied for 47th with a 92.
Lydia Jensen (Fr. - Altoona, Wis.) is tied for 53rd at 93, and
Lilly Kaminski (Fr. - Green Bay, Wis./Denmark) is tied for 56th with a 94.
The WIAC Championship continues on Saturday morning in Reedsburg. UW-Stout is the leader with a team score of 324. Golfers tee off at 9:30 a.m. in the second round.
