LA CROSSE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team fell to 11th-ranked UW-La Crosse 3-0 on Saturday on the road. The Eagles went ahead 2-0 in the first half and held off the Blugolds after the break to seal a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) win.
UW-La Crosse got on the board in the 12th minute to build an early lead. The Eagles doubled their advantage in the 26th minute, and carried that 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Eagles scored a third goal in the 69th minute to complete the scoring.
Kennedy Boll (Jr. - Franklin, Wis.) made six saves in goal for the Blugolds. UW-Eau Claire took four shots and put one on target.
The Blugolds (8-4-3, 2-2-1) will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at UW-River Falls. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
