SANDESTIN, Fla. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a 20th-place finish at the Golfweek October Classic on Tuesday at Raven Golf Course. The Blugolds rose one spot on the leaderboard on the final day and posted their best round of the tournament to end the fall on a high note.
UW-Eau Claire shot a collective 285 on Tuesday to finish with a three-day score of 891.
Nick Mueller (Fr. - Baldwin, Wis./St. Croix Central) had his best round of the tournament on the final day, carding a 72 to finish 6 over par and in a tie for 36th.
Ben Pausha (So. - Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) was next for the Blugolds, firing a 70 on Tuesday to end at 10 over par and in a tie for 60th. He shot 25 spots up the leaderboard on the final day.
Nick Amtmann (Jr. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) tied for 62nd at 11 over par after three days. He carded a 72 to climb 10 spots on Tuesday.
Corey Boerner (Sr. - Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy) entered the clubhouse with a 71, rocketing 24 places up the standings to finish in a tie for 69th at 12 over par.
Carson Brock (Sr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) rounded out the scoring for UW-Eau Claire by carding a 79 on Tuesday and finishing in 117th.
The Blugolds finished the fall portion of their season by placing in the top three in four of five tournaments. They won two tournament titles, and wrapped up the campaign by taking on several ranked teams in Florida at the Golfweek October Classic.
