Box Score WAVERLY, Iowa (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team fell just short on Saturday, falling to No. 18 Wartburg College, 2-1.

The Knights got on the board first with an unassisted goal in the eighth minute, but Sami Matuszak (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Preble) responded with an unassisted goal of her own just three minutes later.
It was a defensive battle for the rest of the game but Wartburg was able to score the deciding goal off a corner kick in the 65th minute.
The Blugolds (1-4) will be back in action next Saturday as they host Luther College at 2 p.m. at Bollinger Field.
