MONTICELLO, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team is in third place after round one of the Saint John's Spring Invitational held at Monticello Country Club.

Joey Dreier (Jr.-New London, WI), Brady Hanson (Jr.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) and Ryan Isaacson (So.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) all shot a 72, putting them in a tie for sixth place while Phillip Johnson (Fr.-Eagan, MN) shot a 73 and is tied for 16th.
"I'm so pleased with how the boys played today," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "They headed into today with a great attitude knowing very well it was the last tournament of the season. They fought hard for birdies, despite a lightning delay. They are ready to continue fighting tomorrow."
Round two will begin at 8:15 on Sunday morning followed by a third and final round, weather permitting.
