ST. PAUL, Minn. (blugolds.com) – Coming off a win over No. 24-ranked University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, the Blugold women's soccer team looked to take down another top-ranked opponent in the No. 13-ranked University of St. Thomas on Sunday but fell just short, 1-0 in overtime.

UW-Eau Claire played hard from the beginning, shutting down the Tommie offense that averages nearly 15 shots on goal per game to only eight. The defensive battle sent the game into overtime, however, St. Thomas was able to find the back of the net to clinch the game-winner.
Sammie Lefaive (Jr. – Coon Rapids, WI) finished with seven saves on the day.
The Blugolds return home Saturday, October 22nd to face UW-Oshkosh at 2 pm at Bollinger Field.
