EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) –The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team put on a show on Alumni Night, cruising to a 64-49 win over UW-Whitewater Saturday night in Zorn Arena.

The Blugolds scored the first basket of the game, and never turned back.

With the help of an eight point run toward the end of the first half, the Blugolds held a 33-21 lead at intermission.

Eau Claire maintained momentum going into the second half, mounting a 9-4 run to start the half.

Their lead was never in question, and they cruised to a comfortable 64-49 victory.

Abby Midtlien (So. Chaseburg, Wis.) followed up her season high 15 points last week with the same this week. She also added six rebounds.

Teenie Lichtfuss (Jr. Oshkosh, Wis.) put up 13 points, while Kristin Sahr (Stillwater, Minn.) added seven.

One rebound short of a double-double, Courtney Lewis (Sr. Prairie du Chien, Wis.) finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Ellen Blacklock also chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Blugolds (13-8, 8-4 WIAC) play again on Wednesday, Feb. 11, as they travel to Platteville, a team they defeated 68-42 in their last meeting.
