LE SUEUR, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team tied for sixth place out of 13 teams at the 2010 Bobby Krig Invitational today.
The Blugolds finished with 915 strokes after the three-round tournament, tying with St. John's second team. St. John's first team won with 871 strokes while Gustavus Adolphus finished in second place with 885 and St. Thomas took third with 895.
Tim McCormick (Fr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) led the Blugolds with 219 strokes as he finished in sixth place in the 73-golfer field.
Tying for 15th was Loren Churness (Jr.-Durand, Wis.) with 225 strokes while Ryan Grip (Jr.-Wausau, Wis./East) tied for 29th with 232 strokes. Ben Ziemann (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and Jake Brookshaw (So.-River Falls, Wis.) finished tied for 51st and tied of 53rd, respectively.
Next up, the Blugolds will compete at the St. John's Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
