MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire student-athletes have earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) athlete of the week honors, conference sports information director Matt Stanek announced today.

Mesick helped UW-Eau Claire secure two conference wins during the week to improve to 5-2 in WIAC contests. On Jan. 16, the Blugolds defeat No. 15-ranked UW-Whitewater 57-53, while picking up a 57-33 victory over UW-Superior on Jan. 13. Against the Warhawks, she secured a double-double with a game-high 24 points, while also pulling down 10 rebounds. Against the Yellowjackets, she scored a career-high 28 points on 11-for-15 shooting from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free throw line. She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Singer played a key role in the Blugolds' 5-1 victory over No. 3-ranked St. Norbert College on Jan. 16. He picked up a goal in the first period, the eventual game-winner, while also recording two assists in the game to help UW-Eau Claire defeat the Green Knights for the first time since 1995. He also scored a goal on Jan. 15, in the Blugolds' 3-2 loss to the Green Knights.

Johnston had a good week, winning matches at two dual meets, while taking second at the UW-Oshkosh Don Gable Open on Jan. 17. He recorded a pair of wins against NCAA Division II opponents from University of Minnesota-Mankato and St. Cloud State University (Minn.). Both the Mavericks and Huskies are ranked nationally. At the Don Gable Open, Johnston registered a pin and a decision before falling to UW-Madison's Shawn Perry 4-3 in the championship match.
