Men's Golf Takes Eighth At Bobby Krig Invite

JORDAN, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished in eighth place out of 15 teams after three rounds at Gustavus Adolphus College's Bobby Krig Invitational at the Ridges at Sand Creek today.

Luther College (Iowa) won the tournament after shooting the lowest round of the day, finishing with 907 strokes overall. St. John's University (Minn.) took second with 912 while St. John's second team finished third with 923. The Blugolds ended with 950 strokes overall.

Ross Jacobucci of Luther won individual medalist honors with 220 strokes while two others tied for second with 221.

Leading the Blugolds overall was K.R. Rucker (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) who finished tied for 21st overall with 235 strokes. Jimmy Hutchings (Fr.-Hudson, Wis.) took 31st with 237 strokes and Jake Brookshaw (Fr.-River Falls, Wis.) tied for 39th with 241. Ryan Grip (So.-Wausau, Wis./East) finished with 243 strokes, tying for 43rd, while Loren Churness (So.-Durand, Wis.) totaled 248 strokes and tied for 57th.

The Blugolds will finish off the regular season next Friday when they travel to Middleton for the Edgewood College Quadrangular. Golfers will compete at Bishops Bay Country Club.
