Box Score OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Having only scored two goals in the past four games, dropping three while tying once, the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team rebounded with a 1-0 win today against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent UW-Oshkosh.
The win today gives the Blugolds a second place finish in the WIAC with a 6-1-1 record while having an overall record of 9-6-2. UW-Oshkosh drops to 8-7-2 on the year while being 4-3-1 in the WIAC.
Lisa Marco (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) scored the lone goal of the game at 80:22 with the assist from Megan Hillesheim (Jr.-Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) to end the Blugolds conference play with a win.
The Blugolds recorded 16 shots compared to the Titans' six. UW-Oshkosh committed seven fouls to Eau Claire's three while the Blugolds took three corner kicks to the Titans' five.
Blugold goalie Emily Kidd (So.-St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) defended the Blugold net the entire game, adding three saves to her record and allowing no goals. Titan goalie Brittany Walder picked up seven saves and allowed one goal.
The Blugolds will head back to Eau Claire tomorrow for their final game of the regular season against Carleton College (Minn.). Senior Day for the Blugolds is set to start at 2 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
