WEST SALEM, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team, ranked second in Division III, finished tied for fourth place at the 25-team Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational, hosted by UW-La Crosse at the Maple Grove Country Club today.
South Dakota finished the day in the top spot with five runners finishing 25th or better. Wartburg College's Anna Kraayenbrink finished in first with the best individual time of 21:31.
The Blugolds capped off their race with 154 points behind five runners who finished 51st or better in the 444-runner field. Mary Palmer (Sr.-Anoka, Minn.) led the pack for Eau Claire today, taking 7th place with a time of 22:02. Hannah Humbach (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Abundant Life Christian) crossed the line six seconds later, taking 26th place with a time of 22:41. Beth Easker (So.-Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) was the next Blugold to cross the finish line in 27th place with a time of 22:44 Alyssa Sybilrud (Fr.-Savage, Minn./Burnsville) and Ellie Lutz (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial finished 43rd and 51st with times of 22:58 and 23:08, respectively.
Next up for the Blugolds will be the Lake Wissota Meet in Eau Claire which will begin at 4:00 p.m. next Friday.
