Men's Golf Ties For Fourth, Takes Sixth

JORDAN, MN - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf teams had a tie for fourth and a sixth-place finish at the 16-team Bobby Krig Invitational at the Ridges at Sand Creek, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus (MN).

The UW-Eau Claire I team was in third place yesterday while the UW-Eau Claire II team moved up from eighth. In the end, the first team had 615 strokes while the second had 623.

St. John's (MN) stayed in first and won it all with a +33 601 tally. The home team shot 609 while St. Thomas (MN) took the No. 3 slot with 611 strokes. Eau Claire tied Augsburg College (MN) at 615. UW-Stout was in seventh behind the UW-Eau Claire II team at 625.

Nick Profanick of Maryville University (MO) won individual honors with a +5 147. There were 84 golfers participating.

Tyler Leis (Sr.-Reedsburg) was the top Blugold at 153 strokes, which tied him for 12th. Ben Ziemann (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) was one stroke behind Leis and tied for 14th. Mason Milner (Jr.-Onalaska) tied for 21st on his 155 score while Mike Greer (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) notched a 157 for a 33rd-place tie.

Cole Stark (Sr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) was the best golfer for the UW-Eau Claire II team, shooting 154 and tying for 14th. Alex Kroeger (So.-Onalaska) finished at 156 and in a tie for 27th, as did Robert Norris (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall). Ryan Brockhaus (Sr.-Mayville) collected 157 strokes and tied for 33rd.

The team is off for a week until it heads to the Border Battle on Tuesday in Menomonie.
