Women's Cross County Places Seventh At Roy Griak Invite

FALCON HEIGHTS, MN - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team finished seventh out of 32 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course.

The field featured some of the top teams in all of Division III cross country. Carleton (MN) won the Invitational scoring 114 points. The Blugolds scored 193 points to finish seventh. Only UW-Platteville placed higher among Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools by finishing fourth with 159 points.

Individually they were 404 competitors who finished the event. All Blugold point scorers on the day were among the top 78 point scorers on the day.

Molly Warner (Jr.-Mosinee) was the top Blugold finisher on the day, placing fifth overall with a time of 23:28. Christina Locke (Sr.-Racine/Horlick) finished 17th on the day with a time of 24:04.

Cassie Haak (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) finished 39th overall with a time of 24:41. Hannah Humbach (Fr.-Madison/Abundant Life Christian) placed 54th and Bridget Bocher (Jr.-Watertown) finished 78th posting a time of 25:32.

Up next the Blugolds will host the Blugold Open at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax on Friday, September 29. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
