Men's Golf Ties For Fourth At The St. John's Invitational

SARTELL, MN - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team shot a final round 309 today to finish tied for fourth place with Gustavus Adolphus with a total score of 623 at the St. John's Invitational.

Today's final round took place at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course. Par was 72, but today course was little bit shorter than round one with a distance of 6,992 yards.

One of the three St. John's teams, St. John's Blue, and Augsburg College tied for first place with a score of 615. St. John's Red finished in third with a score of 616.

Mike Greer (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) was the top Blugold finisher as he finished in third place just two shots behind the medalist winners. Greer shot a second round 74 (+2), which was tied for the second best score of the day. With the 77 he posted in the first round, Greer finished with a total score of 151 (+7).

Derek Bauer (Jr.-Inver Grove Heights, MN/Eagan) was the second-highest Blugold finisher with a total score of 153 (+9), which was good enough for a fifth-place tie. Rob Norris (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) finished in 21st place for the Blugolds with a score of 157 (+13).

Ryan Brockhaus (Sr.-Mayville, WI) had back-to-back 81's for a total score 162 (+18), which put him in tie for 42nd place. Cole Stark (Sr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) finished in a tie for 88th place with a score of 173 (+29).

Up next the Blugolds will host the Frank Wrigglesworth UWEC Invitational next Sunday (Sep. 24th) and Monday (Sep. 25th).
