LESUEUR, MN - The sixth-ranked UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished tied for second today with St. John's University after shooting the low round of the day and Grant Lissick (Sr. -Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) finished tied for first overall at the Bobby Krig Invitational.
The Blugolds along with the Johnnies finished with a total score of 907. The host school Gustavus Adolphus won the event just three strokes ahead of the Blugolds with a score of 904. In fourth place was Augsburg, who shot a score of 931. In fifth was Luther College with a score of 938.
The Blugolds shot a second round score of 299, 12 shots better than anybody else in the tournament.
Grant Lissick finished tied for first overall in the event as he shot a 54-hole score of 223. Lissick tied with Ben Hanson of Luther College. Tyler Leis (Jr.-Reedsburg, WI) also finished in the top five as he tied for fifth with a score of 228.
Ryan Brockhaus (Jr.-Mayville, WI) was the next highest Blugold as finished tied for 11th with a score of 229.
Three Blugolds tied for 19th place. Brian Giese (Jr.-Prairie du Chien, WI), Mike Greer (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake), and Alex Kroeger (Fr.-Onalaska, WI) all finished with a score of 232.
Derek Pirkl (Sr.-Stoughton, WI) posted a 54-hole score of 234 and finished tied for 28th. Peter Wendt (So.-Lake Mills, WI) tied 40th with a score of 239 and Mason Milner (So.-Onalaska, WI) finished tied for 54th with a score of 243.
The Blugolds will compete in the Elmhurst College Invite next Monday to finish its regular season.
