COLFAX - Of the twenty teams running, the UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team finished second today at the Blugold Open Cross Country Meet on the Whitetail Golf Course.

The 80 Blugold points gave them the two slot, but WIAC opponent UW-La Crosse took first with 52. In third was the University of St. Thomas at 106. Behind them was the University of Minnesota racking up 120 points as Luther College completed the top five with 153.

There were three top 25 finishers for Eau Claire. Molly Warner (So.-Mosinee) was fourth at 23:25 on the six kilometer course. In sixth was Rachel Anderson (Sr.-St. Paul, MN/Harding) with a 23:36 time. Jane-Marie Ovanin (Sr.-Amherst) completes the trio with her ninth place, 23:43 race. The overall winner was Kristen Painter of La Crosse at 22:41.

The Blugolds next head to La Crosse on October 15th for the UW-La Crosse Invite, which starts at 10:45 a.m.
