MINNEAPOLIS - Here today at the Roy Griak Invitational on the Les Bolstad Golf Course, the Eau Claire squad finished second out of 28 total teams.
The Blugolds accumulated 112 points, nine points behind the winning Carleton College team. Eau Claire was ahead of third place St. Olaf by two points, with Gustavus Adolphus following them with a 142 score. St. Thomas amassed a 164 total and finished fifth.
With 327 runners, all Blugolds finished in the top 50. Molly Warner (So.-Mosinee) was 11th overall, running 23:26. Jane-Marie Ovanin (Sr.-Amherst) ran 23:39 and claimed the fifteen spot. Following her at 23:58 and in 24th was Rachel Anderson (Sr.-St. Paul, MN//Harding) while Bridget Bocher (So.-Watertown) was four spots behind Anderson at 28th as she ran a 24:11 race. The last point-getter for Eau Claire was Beth Lutz (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) as her 24:17 run gained the 34th spot.
The Eau Claire team is now a dominating 44-3 on the year.
Next up for the Blugolds is the home meet on Friday the 30th in Colfax. The Blugold Open starts at 3:30 p.m.
