NORTHFORK, MN - On day two of the three day Gustavus Twin Cities Classic at The Links, the UW-Eau Claire men's golf team moved itself to the runner-up position out of 17 teams.
The pack has spaced itself out a little bit when compared to day one. The Blugolds have 597 strokes so far. First place Saint John's University has shot 591 thus far. Home team Gustavus Adolphus is in third at an even 600, while Central College, University of St. Thomas, and Wartburg College are all tied for fourth at 601.
Mike Greer (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) leads the Blugolds with a one over par 145. He is in third overall. Tied for 11th is Grant Lissick (Sr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) with 148. A two-day 151 performance ties Derek Bauer (So.-Eagan, MN/Indian Hills CC, IA) for 20th. In a tie for 32nd is Peter Wendt (So.-Lake Mills) and his 153 strokes. Ryan Brockhaus (Jr.-Mayville) has hit 158 and is tied for 62nd.
Tomorrow the Classic wraps up on the Minnesota Valley Golf Course as the Blugolds aim to grab the number one spot.
