MENOMONIE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team had to settle for 0-0 tie tonight against I-94 rival UW-Stout.

This was the Blugolds third scoreless tie of the season. The Blugolds started the season with 0-0 tie against Augsburg College and had their second scoreless tie of the season against Luther College. This was the Blugolds tenth shutout of the season.

The match between the rivals was pretty even throughout. The Blugolds had a huge second half advantage in shots, out shooting the Blue Devils 11-3, but other than that the Blugolds only out shot the Blue Devils by one.

Blugold goalies Liz Weirick (So.-Kenosha, WI/Tremper) and Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata,MN) combined for the shutout, saving 11 Blue Devil shots. The Blue Devil's Charla Buxbaum faired just as well stopping 13 Blugold shots.

Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN) and Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison/Memorial) had seven shots on goal combined, but were unable to get one past the goalkeeper.

With the tie the Blugolds are now 11-1-4 overall and are 5-0-2 in conference play. The Blue Devils are now 9-2-3 overall and have a conference record of 4-1-2.

The Blugolds will have their final home match of the regular season tomorrow against UW-Superior. The action gets underway at 2 p.m.
