SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. - The final day of Ohio Wesleyan University's Gordin Collegiate and the UW-Eau Claire men's golf team's regular season had Eau Claire moving up from tenth to eighth out of 12 teams.
The Blugolds shot 301 on the second day of the tournament at the Deer Track Golf Resort to claim a two-day total of 612. 586 is the winning score for Guilford College, while Huntingdon claimed second with 587. In third is Emory University at 601. Oglethorpe University finished fourth while shooting 602 and St. John's University rounded out the top five with 608.
The top Eau Claire golfer was Derek Bauer (So.-Eagan, MN/Indian Hills CC, IA) who shot 150 and tied for 11th. Derek Pirkl (Sr.-Stoughton) finished in a tie for 18th with a 152 meet. In a tie for 30th is Peter Wendt (So.-Lake Mills) and his 154 strokes. Mike Greer (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) ended in a tie for 37th while hitting 156. Mason Milner (So.-Onalaska) tied for 53rd with his 164 total. Par was 144 and the winner shot one under.
Eau Claire has finished in a tie for fifth, first and second, first, and now eighth in all events. The overall record for the Blugolds is 44-11-1.
