Men's Hockey Falls To Lake Forest

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey allowed three first period goals and couldn't recover in losing to Lake Forest 5-1 here tonight at Hobbs Ice Center.

Eau Claire matched the Foresters shot for shot in the first period but was unable to capitalize on their ten shots. Lake Forest took advantage of their chances scoring three even strength goals in the period.

The Blugolds fell behind 4-0 just 25 seconds into the second period when Lake Forest scored a power play 25 goal. Eau Claire matched the Foresters with a power play goal of their own before the end of the period. Pete Eloranta (Sr.-River Falls) scored his seventh goal of the year to cut the lead to 4-1.

Lake Forest added a power play goal with less than two minutes left in the game to give the game its final margin.

The Blugolds fall to 8-10-3 overall and 1-7-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.

Eau Claire will be in action next when they host UW-Superior Friday at Hobbs Ice Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
