The Blugolds fall to 5-6-0 for the season and 1-2-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play while the Falcons improve to 9-1-1 overall and 2-1-0 in WIAC action. The Blugolds' loss to River Falls ends a five-match win streak against the Falcons, dating back to October 13, 1999.

The Blugolds responded less than three minutes later, when Becky Sitter (Fr.-Waupaca) took a pass from Emily Meisinger (So.-Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) and scored Eau Claire's lone goal of the night to tie the game 1-1.

Ashley Peterson scored the eventual game-winning goal for River Falls at the 7:50 mark and the Falcons added two more goals before halftime to make the score 4-1.
