Women's Indoor Track & Field Takes Third at Eastbay Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track & field team finished in third place out of 12 teams at the Eastbay/Pointer Invitational on Saturday.

Eau Claire finished with 98.50 points while UW-Oshkosh won with 138 and UW-Stevens Point took second with 111.

Two Blugolds found their way to victories in three events.

Carly Fehler (So.-Oak Creek, Wis.) led the Blugolds with two victories, one on the track and one in the field. She took first in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.85 seconds while winning the long jump with a leap of 5.33 meters (17-6). Her 60-meter mark tied for the second fastest time in the conference this year.

Erin Schoenfelder (Sr.-Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.11 seconds, the third best time in the WIAC so far this year.

The Blugolds will be back in Stevens Point next Friday and Saturday for the WIAC Championship.
