GREEN BAY, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team traveled to Green Bay on Friday where they led a 7-2 rout over St. Norbert College.  On Saturday, they took the trip to Appleton to play Lawrence University, where they came up short 5-4.

Against St. Norbert, the Blugolds were led by Ryan Vande Linde (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial), who won a close No. 1 singles match by a score of 7-5, 5-7, 10-7.  Joe Meier (Jr.-Hutchinson, Minn.) won the No. 3 singles match, 6-1, 6-0.  The Blugolds also won the No. 5 and No. 6 singles match.

In the doubles competition, Eau Claire won all three matches.  Its best win came in the No. 2 match, where Michael Roden (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and David Stingley (Sr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) won 8-2.

The Blugolds faced a bigger challenge in Lawrence University.  In the singles matches, Meier won again by a score of 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.  Once again, Brayden Parman (Jr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) and Stingley both won the No. 5 and No. 6 matches, respectively.
