UW-Eau Claire Athletics Facilities
Athletics at UW-Eau Claire utilizes a number of different facilities for its 22 intercollegiate teams. These facilities are both on campus and off campus, with some being owned by the university and some being owned by the City of Eau Claire.

McPhee

Details)
Originally dedicated in 1969, McPhee featured an expansion in 1987
when the Ade
Olson Addition was constructed. McPhee serves as the main
headquarters for the athletics program. The original building,
which was renovated in 2007, houses a 6-lane, 25-yard natatorium
plus a main gymnasium with portable seating for 1,000 in which
volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling matches are contested.
There is also a gymnastics gym, where the gymnasts hold practice, plus a large, newly-furnished weight room. The Ade Olson addition features an elevated 6-lane, 200-meter track plus four indoor tennis courts and a modern sports medicine facility. The building also features nine raquetball courts.
Outside the McPhee building are eight tennis courts plus the Simpson Field which features a 9-lane, 400-meter all-weather track plus three practice football fields.
Carson
Park (View More Details)
The football team plays at city-owned Carson Park, a 6,500-seat
facility that saw artificial turf installed in 2005, plus new
locker rooms, concession area and restroom facilities were built in
1997. The softball team plays on Gelein Field in Carson Park and
was the site of the 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2010 NCAA Division
III national softball championships.
Hobbs Ice
Center (View More Details)
City-owned Hobbs Ice Center, which seats 1,100, serves as the home
of the Blugold hockey teams. In 2008, Hobbs was renovated to
incorporate many new features including new locker rooms for the
Blugolds.
W.L. Zorn
Arena (View More Details)
The men and women’s basketball teams call the 2,500-seat W.
L. Zorn Arena on lower campus their home facility. Built in the
early 1950s, this structure has been the site of numerous playoff
games for the Blugolds’ nationally-regarded men and
women’s basketball programs. The facility was named in honor
of W. L. "Bill" Zorn who was the head men’s basketball coach
at UWEC for 40 years. Zorn Arena was the first major post-war
public college building to be constructed in the state of
Wisconsin
Bollinger
Fields (View More Details)
Just south of the university’s Upper Campus is a 40-acre
tract now known as the Bollinger Fields, renamed during the summer
of 1998 in honor of Blugold Hall of Famer and former Assistant
Chancellor Jim Bollinger. The site includes four softball fields,
three soccer fields and a rugby field. At Bollinger, the
women’s soccer team hosts games on Field No. 5 while the
softball team holds practice regularly at the complex. The
Bollinger soccer fields were renovated in 2010 with new dugouts and
a scoreboard.
Eau Claire
Country Club (View More Details)
The men’s golf team plays its home tournaments at the Eau Claire Golf &
Country Club, one of the top-rated private courses in the
state. Established in 1901, Eau Claire Golf & Country Club
enjoys a long-standing reputation of possessing one of the finest
and most challenging golf courses in the upper Midwest. The
18-hole, par 71 Championship course is spread out over 250 acres of
mature, wooded terrain, including sweeping hillsides and towering
white pines.

The women’s golf team plays its home tournaments at the Mill Run and
Wild Ridge Golf Courses.
Whitetail Golf
Course (View More Details)
The Whitetail Golf Course, just outside of Colfax, is the home
course for the men’s and women’s cross country
teams.
