Before beginning practice with any team, a student-athlete must have a physical if a new candidate or a health screening if a returning athlete. Because the university does not carry health insurance for its athletes, all candidates must provide proof of insurance through a personal policy or their parents' policy. A varsity candidate must also attend a mandatory meeting at which forms will be completed and rules and regulations discussed.
